The popularity of Design-Build (D-B) has grown over the past decade, making it one of the most significant trends in the design and construction industry. To summarize the process, D-B project delivery allows the design-builder to perform both design and construction under one single contract. According to the American Institute of Architects, “Owners, including government agencies, are finding [D-B] attractive for complex and unusual projects, because it eliminates some of the major seams in getting a project built,” and AI embraces using the D-B method of project delivery and its innovative, interesting and complex assignments.
