Sustainable design has emerged as a guiding philosophy for designers, whether for building rehabilitation, retrofit or new construction. In all aspects of design and construction, AI strives to create green designs whether it be in buildings, roadways or bridges. Our LEED certified professionals have state of the art knowledge of USGBC guidelines, and experience in sustainable design.

Achieving LEED certification goals have become a main focus of building design here at AI. For our own new headquarters, the AI Tech Center, we have registered to achieve a LEED certification goal of Platinum Green Building Rating System, which is the highest designation issued by the U.S. Green Building Council. The new building will be the second such structure built in the State of Connecticut, and the first commercially leasable building of this kind. The benefits of sustainable design are abundant for both the people working inside the building and society in general. Green buildings tend to be cleaner, easier to maintain, cheaper to own and operate, and are, overall, a win-win proposition for everyone involved.
