 Abul Islam, PE, FASCE – President/CEO

Mr. Islam has over 26 years of experience in design, upgrade, construction and maintenance of bridges, highways, transportation/transit, airports, buildings, utility and power infrastructure. He has managed complex engineering projects involving numerous disciplines successfully. His specialties are setting up project teams and providing guidance on technical, managerial and financial project goals. He is very active within the business organizations and the education community. He continues to serve on the Board of Directors and as an advisory member in business and educational organizations.
Arnold Weitzman, PE – Vice President/COO

Mr. Weitzman has over 28 years of experience in design, construction and project management of bridges, highways, transportation/transit, airports, buildings, utility and power infrastructure. He is involved in recruiting, staff development, management, and client relations.
Parmjit Sahani, PE – Vice President

Mr. Sahani has over 28 years of experience in civil, bridge/structural and foundation engineering design, condition inspection, construction inspection/ administration, project planning, scheduling and coordination. His diversified background makes him a versatile and knowledgeable resource in all areas of engineering. His primary responsibilities encompass project management, quality assurance/quality control aspects or projects.
Aslam Siddiqui, PE – Associate Vice President

Mr. Siddiqui has over 17 years of experience in overhead sign structure, traffic signal mast arm, high mast light tower, railroad, and NBIS Inspection of complex and moderately complex bridges. For the past several years, he has closely interfaced with ConnDOT, MassDOT, VDOT and RIDOT Bridge Management staff for all firm-wide NBIS Bridge Inspection and load rating contracts completed or at hand. Mr. Siddiqui is also the Project Coordinator/Operations Manager/Chief Safety Officer with the firm.
Daniel Whittemore, PE – Associate Vice President

Mr. Whittemore has over 11 years of experience in design, construction and project management of bridges, highways, transportation/transit, airports, buildings, utility and power infrastructure. His role includes building and utility management and coordination of internal and external discipline coordination and leading technical and process improvement.
Basil Bantimba, PE – Principal Engineer

Mr. Bantimba has over 25 years experience in managing many large and complex bridge design rehabilitation and bridge inspection projects. He has worked on many ConnDOT, MBTA, MHD, Massachusetts Turnpike Project and Massachusetts Port Authority Bridge Project as Principal Structural Engineer/Project Manager. He served as a Project Manager for many bridge inspection/bridge rehabilitation teams in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Virginia and Massachusetts over the past several years.
William G. Murphy, PE – Director of Engineering

Mr. Murphy brings 30 years of experience in design and construction inspection services. He provides technical, contractual and administrative oversight for many of the firm’s projects, managing the commitment of staff resource and overseeing performance.
Jack Holland – Engineering Manager

Mr. Holland has 25 years of civil engineering experience in the areas of civil/site, transportation, water resources, facilities, construction management and environmental projects including on-call engineering service contracts. Since 1982, he has been involved in many private, State and federal projects, including Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT), Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CDEP) and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management (MDEM), involving preliminary design to construction inspection services.
Robert Bunce, PE – Chief Construction Engineer

Mr. Bunce has over 30 years of experience in resident engineering, construction supervision, constructability reviews and construction management and claims evaluation of major highway and bridge projects, civil/site and water/wastewater projects. He is highly experienced in project scheduling, claims analysis and evaluation. He is also familiar with ConnDOT and NYSDOT office construction policies and procedures.
John Lloyd, PE – Director of Facilities

Mr. Lloyd has over 25 years of experience in the construction, contracting and design of building systems. With his experience starting as an electrician and continuing through as engineer and project manager for a variety of projects, Mr. Lloyd brings a complete perspective to the facility design and construction process. As the Director of Facilities for AI Engineers, Mr. Lloyd is responsible for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design and project management.
Akram Ahmad, PE, SE – Chief Structural Engineer

Mr. Ahmad is the Chief Structural Engineer and has over 27 years experience in inspection, evaluation, design and rehabilitation of wooden, steel and concrete structures. He is currently involved in a number of bridge design rehabilitation and load rating projects, including complex interstate bridge replacement projects. He is also a certified Structural Engineer.
Edmund Parker, PE – Principal Engineer

Mr. Parker has over 35 years of diverse transportation experience with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT). During his tenure he was involved in hundreds of transportation projects from the initial design through construction. He worked closely with elected officials and the general public to implement the State’s Transportation Improvement Program. Since joining AI, he has served as a QA/QC Engineer and Regional Manager and has been heavily involved in bridge inspection and civil engineering projects.
Shanila Aslam – Director, Business Development and Strategic Planning

Ms. Aslam manages company-wide Business Development and Strategic Planning work and also serves as the key client-relations manager. She also oversees all media and marketing materials and helps develop the company’s short term and long term goals.
Stephanie Lesick-Hernandez – Assistant Operations Manager

Ms. Lesick-Hernandez is in charge of daily operations and coordinates engineering and technical team activities pertaining to project operations, documentation, and purchasing tasks.
Susan Wagner – Director of Human Resources

Ms. Wagner is in charge of coordination and recruitment and retention. She manages and coordinates HR needs between various managers, including training and development, communication and enhancement of software skills. She helps develop and implement company policies.
Michael Patenaude – General Counsel

Mr. Patenaude has been involved in supporting the company’s legal needs in contract and employee management. He is also involved in maintaining the company’s real assets and development management.
Janice Deming-Scurto – Accounting Manager

Ms. Deming-Scurto is in charge of accounting and finance work. This includes coordination with internal and outside accounting firms, accounting and financing tasks related to payroll and invoicing.
