On December 9th, 2011 AI hosted its annual holiday party at the Middletown corporate office (click to see pictures). This was a special occasion as AI also celebrated its 20th anniversary (click to read the 20 year anniversary magazine). Aslam Siddiqui, PE - Vice President was presented with the Leadership Award and Eric Biegen, NICET I was awarded the Employee of the Year for 2011. Honorable mentions were given to Chris Chuck and Vikas Bishnoi. |

On June 8th, 2011, AI’s Vice President Daniel Whittemore, PE, LEED AP presented a technical paper entitled LRFR Ratings on Existing Bridge Inventories – A Case Study at the International Bridge Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. The paper, which Dan co-authored with our primary client contact at VDOT, uses AI’s recent load rating work for the DOT to demonstrate to bridge owners the impact the transition to the LRFR method of load ratings can have on posted bridge load limits. |

FHWA Administrator Victor Mendez visited the site of AI’s ARRA construction engineering and inspection project, the Replacement of Amtrak Bridge over Route 1 in Branford. At the press conference held on Thurs, Oct 21, 2010, Mendez reviewed the work of the $70 million project, the largest ARRA funded project in CT. Also present at the event were Rep. Rosa DeLauro and State Transportation Officials.

AI’s President/CEO, Abul Islam, PE FASCE, was one of the finalists for the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut’ s (AGCCT) 2010 Designer of the Year. Other 2010 Award Categories included: Public Owner, Private Owner, General Contractor/CM, Subcontractor, Supplied/Service Provider, Supervisor and Educator. At the Industry Recognition Dinner, held on Tues, Oct 12, 2010, Mr. Islam, along with the winners and other finalists was presented with a plaque in recognition of his achievements in the construction industry. |
