Survey & Mapping
Our survey department has made its mark in completing complex survey and mapping design assignments throughout New England. Projects such as the Glenbrook Cables Underground Utility installation, the Moses Wheeler Bridge Design, and the I-84 highway realignment in Waterbury, CT are only some examples of AI’s extensive survey capabilities. We now have 3 licensed Land Surveyors on staff and capabilities ranging from traditional ground survey to modern GPS sub-centimeter positioning. The survey department is fully equipped in-house for four to five survey crews. We also have the capability to establish additional crews as the workload requires. The surveying crews are equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment including Topcon 311/ Total Stations, HP48GX Data Collectors, Auto Levels, Topcon Dual Frequency Static GPS Receivers and compatible computer software. Furthermore, our field operations are supported by internal experienced CADD technicians/engineers.
Site Design/Land Development
The AI team strives to enhance the quality of life where people live, work and play by providing efficient solutions to land development projects that are functional, environmentally responsible and technically sound. This approach maximizes the potential of each site design and provides unique solutions for our clients. Understanding and navigating the site development approval process is critical to success. So is familiarity with the highly technical issues and state-of-the-art computer-based tools that are essential to civil engineering. Whether it is a new phase, a new neighborhood, or a revitalization, our site design division can take a project through mapping/plotting, preliminary design, planning and zoning and ultimately to final design where the project is ready for bid and construction. AI offers project management, feasibility studies, land analysis, site planning and design for residential, commercial, municipal and industrial developments.
