AIE Breaks Ground on Headquarters Expansion

AI Engineers started in a basement. Today, we're investing millions of dollars to expand our high-tech headquarters right here in Middletown, Connecticut, a milestone that reflects just how far the firm has come and how far it's headed.

Breaking Ground on a Unified Corporate Campus

AIE is excited to announce that we're breaking ground on the expansion of our headquarters, beginning with the renovation of two newly acquired buildings located in front of our main headquarters at 919 Middle Street. With the interior designed by our in-house architects, the project will transform three separate buildings into one modern, integrated corporate campus.

"This is more than a construction project. It's a statement about where AIE is going, and the infrastructure we're building to get there."

A Multi-Phase Vision

The expansion will unfold in three phases over the next several years:

Phase One: Late Fall 2026 A new 10,000-square-foot open, collaborative workspace will take shape in the newly acquired buildings, with occupancy targeted for late Fall 2026. This space is designed to foster the kind of cross-team collaboration that drives great engineering.

Phase Two: 2027 Building 905 will undergo a full renovation and modernization, primarily including a full kitchen and a large cafeteria, expanding the campus with additional workspaces, programming, and employee amenity areas.

Phase Three: 2028 The final phase brings the vision together with the construction of an envisioned glass-enclosed atrium and connecting corridors linking all three buildings. The result will be a unified, state-of-the-art corporate campus anchored by a striking new entrance.

Investing in the Future of Engineering

AIE is investing millions of dollars in this transformation, from renovating the two front-facing buildings to constructing a new connecting structure to building the technology infrastructure that will power the firm's future.

That technology investment is already underway. AIE is developing its own advanced server infrastructure, with a long-term commitment to the newest generation of  Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). VDI will allow employees to securely access high-performance virtual workstations from anywhere in the world, using nothing more than a lightweight laptop.

Our Technology Department is also investing in premium Dell Technologies servers powered by the latest NVIDIA GPUs. These upgrades ensure AIE is AI-ready, future-focused, and equipped to deliver innovative engineering solutions for years to come, all from our headquarters in Middletown, Connecticut.
